A single-issue debut from Image Comics in 2017, Grrl Scouts: Magic Socks is a spin-off of the Grrl Scouts series, following a new generation of misfit teens who inherit strange, power-granting footwear. Writer and artist Jim Mahfood brings his signature punk-rock, graffiti-infused style to this self-contained story, which expands the offbeat, supernatural world of the original. Though brief, it captures Mahfood’s energetic blend of pop-culture satire and indie-comic attitude.
