A.D. Vision’s 2003–2007 Gunslinger Girl comic adaptation ran for six issues, translating the somber Italian manga into a Western monthly format. The series focuses on the Program, a secret Italian government project that transforms young orphaned girls into cybernetically enhanced assassins paired with handlers, exploring the tragic cost of their stolen childhoods. Best known for writer-artist Yu Aida’s original manga, this English-language edition brought the story’s melancholic blend of action and psychological drama to a new readership.
