Hack/Slash: The Series

From 2007 to 2010, Devil's Due Publishing unleashed Hack/Slash: The Series, a horror-comedy romp following monster-hunter Cassie Hack and her lumbering partner Vlad as they slash their way through slasher-inspired horrors. Written primarily by Tim Seeley and illustrated by a rotating team including Emily Stone, Rebekah Isaacs, and Seeley himself, the series became a cult favorite for its blend of gore, dark humor, and affection for B-movie tropes. It notably introduced the undead scientist Herbert West into its universe, cementing its place as a scrappy, fan-favorite indie title that celebrated the genre's excesses with a knowing wink.
