About the series
In the early 1990s, DC Comics launched Hammerlocke, a nine-issue series that combined science fiction and political intrigue. Written by K. S. Wilson and Tom Joyner, with striking art by Chris Sprouse, the story followed a team of genetically engineered soldiers as they navigated a dystopian future and their own fractured humanity. Though short-lived, the series is remembered for Sprouse’s clean, kinetic style and its thoughtful exploration of identity within a militaristic setting.
