In the late 1970s and throughout the 1980s, Semic published Helgenen, a Norwegian comic series running 159 issues that reimagined classic Disney characters as saints and biblical figures. Writers Donne Avenell and Norman Worker, alongside artists Martín Salvador and Robert Llin, crafted these whimsical, reverent tales starring Donald Duck, Mikke Mus, and Langbein. A unique blend of humor and hagiography, the series stands as a curious artifact of its era, offering a lighthearted take on religious stories through beloved animated icons.
