Hellblazer / The Books of Magic
DC · 1997–1998 · 2 issues
About the series
In the late 1990s, DC brought two of its most iconic occult series together for a brief, two-issue crossover. Written by John Ney Rieber and Paul Jenkins with art by Paul Lee, this miniseries sent a young Timothy Hunter, the would-be magician from The Books of Magic, into the grim world of John Constantine, the Hellblazer. The story explores the dangerous, often cynical nature of magic through the eyes of a novice, contrasting his idealism with Constantine's hardened experience. It's a compelling character study that highlights the different tones of the DC Universe's magical corner.
