Het Monster van Frankenstein

In the mid-1970s, Marvel's short-lived horror series Het Monster van Frankenstein (the Dutch translation of The Monster of Frankenstein) ran for seven issues, adapting Mary Shelley's classic novel while expanding into original stories. Writers Gary Friedrich and Doug Moench, alongside artists Mike Ploog, John Buscema, and Val Mayerik, brought a moody, atmospheric take to the creature's tragic journey. Though brief, the series stands as a distinctive, pre-Code era-style Marvel horror entry that treated its literary source material with surprising fidelity and pathos.
