In the late 1970s, Marvel’s mystical martial artist Danny Rand—the living weapon known as Iron Fist—headlined his own short-lived but influential solo series, running just six issues. With striking art from Gil Kane, Dave Cockrum, and Al Milgrom, this title deepened the hero’s kung fu mysticism and New York street-level adventures, bridging his kung fu comic roots with the burgeoning Bronze Age superhero style. Though brief, it cemented Iron Fist as a cult-favorite character whose blend of martial arts and super-heroics would echo through Marvel’s decades to come.
