About the series
In the late 1980s and into the mid-1990s, Egmont Ehapa brought the classic French comic Isnogud to German-speaking readers with a dedicated series of 24 issues. This translation run, largely penned by Gudrun Penndorf and René Goscinny, with art by Jean Tabary and his studio, adapts the beloved misadventures of the Grand Vizier’s hilariously inept assistant as he schemes to replace his master. The series stands as a key entry point for the character’s international popularity, preserving the sharp wit and slapstick humor that made the original a staple of European comics.
