Jane Arden
Atlas · 1955–1956 · 26 issues
About the series
Atlas Comics revived the classic newspaper strip heroine Jane Arden for a 26-issue run in the mid-1950s, updating her from globe-trotting reporter to a more domestic, career-girl adventurer. While the series is best remembered for its striking covers and interior art by the legendary Bill Everett, it also featured work by other Atlas stalwarts like Joe Maneely and Syd Shores. Though short-lived, the title stands as a notable example of Atlas's attempt to sustain a solo female-led comic in the post-war market, blending romance, mystery, and light action.
