Jingo

From 1977 to 1981, the French publisher Jeunesse et vacances released 19 issues of Jingo, a short-lived but energetic comic series that blended adventure with a distinctly patriotic, swashbuckling tone. The series is most associated with its creator, writer and artist Jean-Yves Mitton, whose dynamic, detailed artwork and fast-paced storytelling gave the title its punchy identity. Though it never reached the iconic status of some of its contemporaries, Jingo remains a curious artifact of late-70s European comics, reflecting the era's appetite for rugged, globe-trotting heroics.
