Jungle Jim

About the series
In the late 1960s, Charlton Comics revived the classic newspaper-strip adventurer Jungle Jim for a brief but vivid seven-issue run. The series, helmed by prolific writer Joe Gill alongside Bhob Stewart, sent the rugged explorer into dense, perilous territories where he faced wild beasts and sinister foes. Artists Pat Boyette, Bhob Stewart, and Roger Brand brought a gritty, atmospheric energy to the jungle landscapes and action sequences, giving the title a distinct underground-comix edge. This short-lived series stands as a curious, offbeat chapter in Charlton’s adventure line, blending pulp tradition with the raw, unconventional style of its creators.
