About the series
A short-lived but notable British comic from the Beaverbrook press, Junior Express Weekly ran for 35 issues from 1955 to 1956. It is best remembered for its early work by a young Frank Hampson, the celebrated Dan Dare artist, who contributed covers and strips. Though its run was brief, the title offers a snapshot of mid-1950s British adventure comics for younger readers.
