About the series
During the early 1970s, Danish publisher Interpresse brought the Polish war hero Captain Kloss to comics, adapting the popular TV series Stawka większa niż życie into an eight-issue run. Written primarily by Andrzej Zbych and illustrated by Mieczysław Wiśniewski, the series follows the cunning Polish spy operating undercover as a German officer during World War II. This Cold War-era import stands as a notable example of Eastern European espionage fiction finding a Western audience through the medium of comics.
