Karate Kid
DC · 1976–1978 · 15 issues
About the series
During the late 1970s, DC Comics gave the futuristic martial-arts hero Karate Kid his own solo series, spinning off from the Legion of Super-Heroes. Written primarily by Barry Jameson, E. Nelson Bridwell, and Bob Rozakis, with artwork by Ric Estrada, Curt Swan, and Juan Ortiz, the 15-issue run sent the character on time-traveling adventures that blended sci-fi with martial-arts action. Though short-lived, the series stands as a distinctive showcase for a Legionnaire who rarely led his own stories.
