Kollektion Ignatz

Between 2005 and 2006, the German publisher avant-verlag released eight issues of Kollektion Ignatz, a curated anthology series that brought together some of the most distinctive voices in European comics. The series is most closely associated with Italian talents Gipi, Igort, and Gabriella Giandelli, whose atmospheric, introspective work defined its tone. Named after the classic comic strip character, this short-lived but influential run served as a vital bridge, introducing German readers to the lyrical, often melancholic storytelling of the Italian comics scene.
