In the early 1990s, the Polish anthology Komiks (1990–1991) bridged Eastern and Western European comics across its ten issues, published by Kant Imm. Primarily written by Jacek Rodek, Maciej Parowski, and Jean-Claude Forest, with Paul Gillon as its most frequent artist, the series showcased a mix of local talent and translated works. It stands as a notable, if brief, effort to cultivate a dedicated comics readership in Poland during the post-communist era.
