Insel Verlag revived the pioneering work of Rodolphe Töpffer with this short-lived series, reprinting two of his classic 19th-century picture stories in the 1970s. Töpffer, widely considered a father of the modern comic strip, is the sole creator featured across both issues. Though brief, the series serves as a deliberate historical tribute, reintroducing German readers to the playful, hand-drawn narratives that helped define the medium.
