Korak, Son of Tarzan
DC · 1972–1975 · 14 issues
About the series
In the early 1970s, DC Comics revived Edgar Rice Burroughs’ jungle legacy with Korak, Son of Tarzan, a 14-issue series following the adult Korak as he carved his own path through the wilds of Africa. Writers Robert Kanigher, Len Wein, and Joe Kubert, alongside artists Frank Thorne, Murphy Anderson, and Curt Swan, delivered a mix of adventure, survival, and paternal echoes, distinct from his father’s more famous exploits. Though brief, the series stands as a solid, mid-century take on the pulp tradition, showcasing DC’s willingness to explore the wider Burroughs universe beyond Tarzan himself.
