About the series
Marvel’s Lana (1948–1949) was a seven-issue humor comic centered on the comedic misadventures of a lively cast including Mickey Murphy, Swifty Smith, Lana Lane, Eve Noble, Mom Murphy, and E. Worthington Hamm. Most closely associated with writer and artist Harvey Kurtzman—who handled both scripting and art alongside Bill Williams—the series offered a playful slice of late-1940s Marvel funny-animal and gag-a-day storytelling. Though brief, it’s notable as an early showcase for Kurtzman’s sharp, irreverent comedic voice before his landmark work at EC Comics.
