Larry Marder's Beanworld

Larry Marder’s Beanworld is a singular, whimsical fantasy that ran for two issues from Beanworld Press between 1989 and 1992, written and drawn entirely by Marder himself. It follows the surreal, self-contained ecosystem of the Beanish, the Heyoka, and their symbiotic relationship with the mysterious "Chow" and "Splum." Known for its utterly unique visual language and gentle, philosophical humor, the series carved out a cult niche as a charmingly oddball meditation on community and survival.
