About the series
In the late 1980s, Vents d'Ouest published this compact three-issue French comic series, Le Soleil des loups. The series is best known for the work of writer and artist Jean-Claude Servais, whose delicate, naturalistic style brought a quiet intensity to the story. Set in a rural landscape, it explores the tangled relationships and hidden tensions within a small community, with a particular focus on the mysterious bond between a young woman and a wolf. Though brief, the series stands as a distinctive, atmospheric example of European bande dessinée, admired for its evocative art and understated storytelling.
