About the series
A mid-1990s fantasy manga classic from the all-female creative collective Clamp, Magic Knight Rayearth follows three ordinary schoolgirls who are summoned to the magical land of Cephiro to become legendary warriors and save a princess. Originally serialized in Japan, this Tokyopop English-language edition from 1998–2002 collected the complete story across six issues, bridging shōjo adventure with mecha battles and a subversive twist on the isekai genre. Rika Takahashi and Stuart J. Levy contributed to the adaptation, but the series is defined by Clamp’s signature ethereal art and emotionally resonant storytelling.
