Amanda E. Ahlstrom’s Magnolia & Vern: Annabell & Vern (2016–present) is a single-issue comic from a small press, entirely written and illustrated by Ahlstrom. The series introduces a pair of young friends, Magnolia and Vern, as they navigate a whimsical, hand-drawn world. Though brief, it showcases Ahlstrom’s distinctive, gentle storytelling and art style, making it a charming snapshot of her early independent work.
