From 1999 to 2003, Radio Comix published Mangaphile, a 24-issue anthology series that served as a lively showcase for Western creators exploring manga-inspired storytelling. Writers Pat Duke, Will Allison, and Elin Winkler, alongside artists from Tavicat Studios and Allison himself, filled its pages with a rotating mix of action, comedy, and romance serials. The series stands as a time capsule of the early-2000s American manga boom, offering a platform for original, fan-driven work that blended Eastern visual flair with Western indie sensibilities.
