About the series
In the early 1970s, French publisher Arédit-Artima presented Maniaks, a seven-issue series that collected American humor and adventure comics for a European audience. The series featured the work of a rotating creative team including writers E. Nelson Bridwell, Joe Simon, and Howie Post, with art from Bob Oksner, Mike Sekowsky, and Al Bare. Maniaks offers a unique snapshot of the era's transatlantic comic-book market, packaging US-style slapstick and superheroics under a single, quirky banner.
