About the series
In the late 1980s, Kadokawa published Marionette Generation, a five-issue comic series that blends cyberpunk aesthetics with a dark, character-driven narrative. Created by manga artist Yuzo Takada, the story explores the uneasy relationship between humans and sentient androids in a near-future Tokyo. Though brief, the series stands out for its moody, detailed art and its influence on Takada's later, more famous work, marking a key early step in his career.
