Marvel Masterworks: The X-Men

Marvel's 1998–2002 Marvel Masterworks: The X-Men series, published by Marvel, reprints the earliest adventures of the team, primarily from the late 1960s. Writer Roy Thomas and artist Werner Roth are most closely associated with these two collected volumes, which capture a pivotal era of the original X-Men's evolution. This series matters as an archival presentation of the classic, pre–Giant-Size X-Men stories that laid the groundwork for the franchise's later mythology.
