Marvel Presents

Over twelve issues spanning 1975 to 1977, Marvel Comics used Marvel Presents as a rotating showcase, but it's best remembered as the launchpad for the original Guardians of the Galaxy team. Writers Steve Gerber and Mary Skrenes, alongside artists like Al Milgrom and John Buscema, introduced readers to a far-future cosmic corner of the Marvel Universe, featuring characters such as Yondu, Charlie-27, and the crystalline Martinex. Though the series itself was short-lived, it established the core of a team that would later become a cornerstone of Marvel's cosmic mythology.
