Metallica

David Neal Miller wrote and co-illustrated this three-issue Apple Press miniseries from 1991–1992, which brought the thrash metal band Metallica into the comic book medium. With art contributions from Bob Downs and Jae Lee, the series translated the band's intense, dark aesthetic into visual storytelling. It stands as a distinct, early-90s artifact of the crossover between heavy music and comics.
