About the series
Lank Leonard, best known for his newspaper strip "Mickey Finn," brought the mischievous Irish-American cop and his beat to comic books for a brief three-issue run from Eastern Color in the early 1940s. The series translated the strip's gentle, gag-a-day humor into the comic book format, offering a snapshot of wartime-era humor and a beloved character's transition to the newsstand. While short-lived, it represents a classic example of a popular newspaper strip getting a standalone comic book showcase during the Golden Age.
