About the series
Jack Kirby’s original Mister Miracle series (1971–1978) brought his Fourth World mythology to DC Comics, following Scott Free—the master escape artist known as Mister Miracle—and his ally Oberon as they battled the tyrannical forces of Apokolips, including Doctor Bedlam and Granny Goodness. With Kirby’s dynamic art and storytelling alongside later contributors like E. Nelson Bridwell and Curt Swan, the series introduced Big Barda and deepened Scott’s struggle for freedom. A cornerstone of Kirby’s cosmic saga, it remains essential for its blend of high-concept sci-fi and human-scale heroism.
