About the series
Marvel’s Moon Knight Special Edition (1983–1984) gave Doug Moench and Bill Sienkiewicz three oversized issues to deepen the shadowy world of Marc Spector and his lunar-powered vigilante persona, Moon Knight. A showcase for Sienkiewicz’s increasingly expressionistic art, the series followed Spector, his lover Marlene Alraune, and his fractured psyche through moody, character-driven stories that expanded the mythos beyond the main title. Though brief, it remains a pivotal snapshot of the creative team’s evolving, noir-infused take on the character.
