About the series
In the late 1950s, the beloved Moomins made the leap from picture books to their own long-running comic series, Mumintrollet, published in Sweden by Gebers. Tove Jansson, the original creator, and her brother Lars Jansson collaborated to bring these gentle, eccentric characters to a new format, with Tove providing the art. Spanning 21 issues from 1957 to 1974, the series expanded the Moomin world with warm, whimsical adventures that delighted readers and cemented the franchise's place in Nordic comics history.
