Mummitrollet

From 1993 to 1997, Semic published Mummitrollet, a 60-issue comic series that brought Tove Jansson’s beloved Moomins to a new generation of Scandinavian readers. While rooted in Jansson’s original spirit, the series was largely sustained by the creative team of writers Mari Andresen and Noomi Hebert, alongside artists Mårdøn Smet, Jari Rasi, and Ilkka Ruokola, who shaped its distinctive visual identity. This run remains a key chapter in the Moomins’ comic legacy, offering a consistent, long-form adventure cycle that expanded the world of Moominvalley for a dedicated audience.
