Neon Genesis Evangelion

About the series
In the early 2000s, Carlsen Comics brought the iconic mecha saga Neon Genesis Evangelion to German readers as a comic series. Running for ten issues from 2004 to 2007, this adaptation faithfully translated the original manga by Yoshiyuki Sadamoto, capturing the story of young pilots commanding giant Evangelion units against mysterious Angels. While the series itself is a reprint of the manga rather than new material, it served as a key entry point for German-speaking audiences into the psychologically complex, apocalyptic world of Evangelion. Its publication helped cement the series' legacy as a cornerstone of 1990s anime and manga culture in Europe.
