About the series
In the mid-1980s, Blackthorne Publishing released Nervous Rex, a 10-issue series that blended light horror with offbeat humor. Most frequently written and illustrated by William Van Horn, with contributions from John Lustig, the comic followed the misadventures of its anxious, eponymous dinosaur protagonist. Van Horn’s distinctively expressive artwork and witty storytelling made it a quirky, memorable title from the era’s independent comics scene.
