New England Gothic

A moody, understated horror anthology from Visigoth Studio, New England Gothic began its run in 1986 and has continued sporadically ever since, currently spanning just two issues. The series is most closely associated with writer/artist James LaPointe, who crafted its brooding, atmospheric tales of unease set against the decaying landscapes of the American Northeast, with additional scripting from Tom Brown. Its significance lies in its quiet, self-contained approach to supernatural storytelling, offering a starkly personal and regional alternative to the bombastic horror comics of its era.
