Noritaka

In the late 1990s, French publisher Glénat released Noritaka, an 18-issue series that brought a distinctly European sensibility to the martial arts genre. The story follows a young Japanese man who, after inheriting a dojo, must navigate the world of competitive kendo while confronting his own past and the legacy of his family. Best known for the work of writer and artist Jérôme Hamon, the series stands out for its thoughtful character development and stylized action sequences, offering a quieter, more introspective take on the fighting-comic tradition.
