A short-lived but visually distinctive three-issue series from Germany's Nostalgie-Comic-Verlag, Nostalgie-Comic-Sonderband (1985–1988) adapted classic adventure stories, most notably the work of Italian author Emilio Salgari. The series brought together a mix of European talent, including artist Franco Chiletto and the avant-garde Italian creator Stefano Tamburini, whose involvement adds a surprising edge to otherwise traditional source material.
