About the series
Based on the Japanese novels, this French comic series from Delcourt adapts the supernatural adventures of Abe no Seimei, a legendary onmyoji (yin-yang master) in Heian-era Japan. Running from 2007 to 2015 across eight issues, the series focuses on Seimei's battles against demons and spirits alongside his friend, the court poet Minamoto no Hiromasa. Writer Philippe "Val" Valette and artist Zhang Xiaoyu are the creative team most associated with this moody, historical-fantasy retelling, which brings a distinctive European comics sensibility to classic Japanese folklore.
