About the series
In the late 1970s, the French publisher Elvifrance launched Outre-Tombe, a moody, 18-issue horror anthology series largely defined by the lush, painted covers and interiors of artist Carlo Jacono. Each issue delivered a standalone dose of gothic terror, supernatural suspense, and macabre twists, channeling the European tradition of adult-oriented horror comics. Though brief, the series stands as a striking showcase of Jacono's distinctive painted style and a cult touchstone for fans of vintage European genre comics.
