Patsy Walker and Her Pals

Horwitz · 1953–present · 20 issues
About the series

Al Jaffee—best known for his later Mad magazine work—wrote and drew much of this 1950s Horwitz series, with frequent art assists from Morris Weiss. Across its 20-issue run, Patsy Walker and Her Pals followed the lighthearted adventures of its teenaged heroine and her friends, a bubbly slice of pre-Bronze Age humor and romance comics. It stands as a charming, early showcase for Jaffee’s versatile cartooning before he became a satirical legend.
