Phantom Lady

About the series
In the late 1940s, Fox Feature Syndicate gave the classic pulp heroine Phantom Lady her own title, a vibrant, 11-issue series that ran from 1947 to 1949. Under the creative hands of writers Gregory Page and Ruth Roche and artists like Matt Baker, Jack Kamen, and B. Tirado, the stories followed wealthy socialite Sandra Knight, who donned a revealing costume to fight crime alongside her boyfriend Don Borden and her father, Senator Henry Knight. While short-lived, the series is notable for its striking, often playful artwork—especially Baker’s dynamic, pinup-style renditions—which helped define the look of the Golden Age costumed heroine.
