Picchiarello

In the mid-1980s, Italian publisher Editrice Cenisio brought the chaotic energy of the beloved cartoon woodpecker to the newsstands with Picchiarello (1983–1987). Over the course of 20 issues, this comic series translated the character's signature slapstick and irreverent humor into a serialized format, offering a distinctively Italian take on the classic animated antics. A key part of the publisher's lineup during the era, it remains a fondly remembered piece of licensed European comics history.
