About the series

A warm-hearted and consistently funny Norwegian newspaper strip collection, Pondus bok ran for eleven issues from 2007 to 2018, published by Hjemmet / Egmont. Created and primarily drawn by Frode Øverli, the series follows the everyday misadventures of its titular football-and-beer-loving everyman, alongside his friends Jokke, Camilla, and Gordon. Though Øverli handled most of the art, the series also featured stories written by Fredrik Wandrup and acclaimed crime novelist Jo Nesbø, with occasional art from Børge Lund. It remains a beloved staple of modern Scandinavian humor comics, capturing the gentle, relatable chaos of middle-class life.
