Popeye (Collection)
Greantori · 1981–1984 · 10 issues
About the series
From 1981 to 1984, Greantori revived the classic sailor in a 10-issue series simply titled Popeye (Collection), bringing the spinach-fueled brawler back to newsstands with a clean, all-ages sensibility. Writer Nicola Cuti and artist George Wildman were the creative backbone of this run, delivering straightforward, humorous adventures that stayed true to the character's rough-and-tumble charm without reinventing the wheel. While not a landmark in comic history, this series offered a dependable, fun read for fans of the Thimble Theatre legacy during the early '80s.
