Punisher Max
Marvel · 2005–2011 · 6 issues
About the series
From 2005 to 2011, Marvel’s Punisher Max took Frank Castle out of the regular superhero universe and dropped him into a grim, grounded world of organized crime and moral ambiguity. Most frequently written by Garth Ennis and Gregg Hurwitz, with visceral art from Leandro Fernández, Laurence Campbell, and Dougie Braithwaite, the series stripped the Punisher down to his brutal core. This six-issue run matters for its unflinching, adult take on vigilantism—a defining chapter for the character that pushed the boundaries of what a Marvel comic could be.
