Quick Draw McGraw

About the series
From 1960 to 1962, Dell Comics brought Hanna-Barbera’s beloved TV western parody to the printed page with Quick Draw McGraw, a ten-issue series that captured the slapstick charm of the cartoon. Anchored by the steady artwork of Harvey Eisenberg and Phil De Lara, each issue starred the bumbling horse sheriff Quick Draw and his loyal burro sidekick Baba Looey, while also making room for the studio’s other popular characters like Augie Doggie and Doggie Daddy, the blabbermouth Blabber, and the detective Snooper. Though short-lived, the series stands as a cheerful snapshot of early ’60s licensed comics, faithfully translating the show’s gentle humor for young readers.
