Red Dragon Comics

Street & Smith’s Red Dragon Comics (1947–1949) was a short-lived, seven-issue anthology that blended crime, horror, and fantasy. Writer-editors Pat Morris and Bruce Elliott, alongside artists Joe Maneely, Bob Powell, and Edd Cartier, crafted eerie, shadow-drenched tales that foreshadowed the darker turn of 1950s comics. Though brief, the series stands as a transitional artifact from the pulps to the pre-Code horror boom, showcasing early work from future Marvel mainstay Maneely.
